Complexo de Squalius alburnoides


Description: Species of small dimensions with long, narrow body profile of the rectilinear and pointed head. The mouth is terminal with lower jaw well developed. The species has large eyes and mouth in relation to the size of the head. Have a black horizontal band, on the midline of the body from the head to the base of the tail fin.


Habitat: Permanent or intermittent rivers, streams of reduced width and depth


Where to find in Arouca Geopark: Arda, Paiva and Urtigosa rivers
