This geosite comprises the quartzite outcrops located on the two banks of the Paiva River, between the villages of Meitriz (Arouca) and Pereiró (Castro Daire), resulting from the deposition in the shallow marine environment of sand, preserving innumerous marks of activity of living beings (icnofossis) , of which the Cruzian clues resulting from arthropod activity stand out. It has important outcrops with C. rugosa, with rusiciform appearance on large plaques, and with C. furcifera. Large planes with cross sections of Daedalus halli, with Skolithos linearis, Monocraterion isp. and Planolites beverleyensis. In addition to the icnological findings, the existence of wide layers of stratification covered by ripples of rippling, truly unique, stands out.
