S3: “In the Freita Mountain’s trails”

Synopsis:  Serra da Freita plateau is an excellence natural space to contact with the rural environment. Here it is possible to take a short pedestrian trail through areas of woods, low bushes, small streams and waterfalls, where we often come across the cattle of the region:  Arouquesa's cow breed, goats and sheep. In the oldest villages we can observe the application of the rocks that that emerge in the region. This visit includes the entrance and viewing of the 3D film "Pedras Parideiras: a geological treasure" at Casa das Pedras Parideiras – Interpretation Center.

Notes:

  • The pedestrian route is carried out between the Merujal Camping Park and Frecha da Mizarela Viewpoint, followed by the trip, in the group bus, to the village of Castanheira – Pedras Parideiras;
  • Each bus will be accompanied by a guide;
  • For each program, a maximum of 50 students and a minimum of 15 students are admitted per monitor. For lower or higher numbers of participants, contact the services;
  • The auditorium of Casa das Pedras Parideiras has a capacity for 30 people.
