Urtigosa River

Urtigosa River

It starts in the Urrô parish, from a set of streams that flow from the north slope of Freita. It flows in the south-north direction, enters in the Rossas parish, where it ends, joining to the Escaiba, in the Arda River, which is a tributary of the Douro River. The Urtigosa’s bank is rich in vegetation, where the willows, alders, poplars and chestnut trees predominate, and it has also grain mills, some of them still working.
