Description: Foliaceus lichen, more or less coriaceous, grayish white or brown (when dried), and green (when wet). It presents a big thallus, usually in the shape of a rosette, that can exceed 30 cm diameter, often presenting almost black cephalodia in the shape of a bush (that can have 2 cm diameter). The lobules are wide (up to 2 cm wide), more or less sinuous, with round apexes. The inferior side is tomentosa, light brown, with white edges, and without cyphella or pseudocyphella.

Habitat: Usually occurs over very old trees and occasionally over rocks covered by moss.
