Description: Lichen with a composed thallus, vestigial primary thallus and secondary thallus composed by cylindrical podecia or slightly with the shape of a bowl, simple or with a ramification in the superior part, never with the shape of a bowl, with 2-3 cm height. The apothecia are red, usually present in the top of the podecia, and quite visible between the mosses.

Habitat: Frequently over decayed wood, or in the mossy base of old trunks.

Where to find in the Arouca Geopark: Adaúfe (PR3), Near of the geosite of S. Pedro Velho.
